OSHA Extends Comment Period for Proposed Rule to Ensure Crane Operators are Qualified to Safely Operate Equipment (U.S. Department of Labor)
The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) today announced that it will extend the comment period on the proposed rule on crane operator certification. Fed-OSHA has fined a Florida roofing company nearly $150,000 for violations including fall hazards, the agency in announced Monday. Investigators say the employer neglected to use a guardrail, safety net or personal fall arrest system for roofers who were installing waterproofing material on a roof more than 6 feet off the ground.
