FABA™ EZ slider

The FABA™ EZ, simply said easy, is a new slider for the FABA™ climbing protection system. It is ergonomic, lightweight, functional and easy to use. It fits on both of the FABA™ Height Safety ladders, FABA™ A12 and FABA™ AL2.

Features FABA™ EZ slider

The FABA™ EZ as a fall arrest device has a very unique feature, this slider can be introduced onto the ladder at any given point. It can also be taken off the ladder at any given point while climbing, as long as the user is in a secured position.

In addition, FABA™ EZ can be used with only one hand. It is certified by DEKRA, according to the latest standards, EN 353-1 2018.

To stop a fall of a maximum weight of 150 kg, which covers most users equipped with tools.

Design of the slider

Like all the other fall protection devices, the FABA™ EZ is comprised with the following 3 components:

• The slider
• The shock absorber
• The connector - M23

The slider is made of stainless steel and it has a asymmetric design that allows the user to utilise the device only in the correct position.

The slider has 4 bearing on the face of the slider that allow it to glide through the middle railing of the ladder. The 2 bearing at the top of the FABA™ EZ slider are rotatable which allow it to be introduced or taken away at any given point. There is a mechanical catch equipped on the slider which activates in case of a fall, thereby saving the user from injuries.

M23 connector and shock absorber

The FABA™ EZ comes with a M23 connector. It basically is used to connect the user to the slider while climbing up the ladder. The M23 connector on the FABA™ EZ has an automatic locking system which makes it even easier to use.

The slider and the connector are joined by a shock absorber. The key function of this component is to limit the impact of forces on the users body in case of a fall (600 daN). This limiting of forces is according to the standard norms.

Usage of the slider on FABA™ ladders

All FABA™ sliders are designed for a single user. FABA™ EZ does not need to be introduced onto the ladder from the bottom end. In order to introduce the slider, it must be held in a stable position. Activating the mechanical catch on the slider enables the user to rotate the bearings at the top. Rotate the top bearing into a vertical position and glide it through the ladder rail.

Once introduced onto the ladder, the mechanical catch should be deactivated and the bearings must be turned back into a horizontal position. The correct position of the slider can be identified with the help of the arrow symbol present inbetween the bearings.

It is important to remember that the user must always be in a upright position and closed to the ladder when using the FABA™ EZ.
