Tractel® tracpode in combination with the carol™ winch

This video demonstrates the use of tracpode for rope access operations. The carol winch is used with tracpode to descend and lift people and materials.

Tractel® carolTM R

Our versatile carol™ R winches can be used for both manriding and lifting applications:

  • carol™ R 150kg winches are rescue winches that have been tested to be attached to one leg of the Tracel® tracpode. Compliant with EN 1496 class A, with a maximum load of 150 kg.
  • carol™ R winch 150kg also meets the requirements of hoisting winches with a maximum load of 250 kg (Directive 2006/42 / EEC)
  • carolTM R winch can also be used as a rope access and positioning system, in accordance with directive 2001/45/EC, provided that a secondary safety device is also used e.g. blocforTM

The carol™ R may only be used to perform one of its' applications at any one time and additional applications cannot be performed simultaneously.

Tractel® tracpode:

The tracpode is a temporary anchor point tested to stop the fall of two operators weighing 150 kg each; including their equipment and tools. It can also be used as an anchor point for lifting, with the capability to raise a maximum load of 500 kg, provided the strap is fitted to the feet.

Due to its size, the tracpode is extremely suitable as a mobile anchor point for working in confined spaces, handling loads and performing rescue operations. Made from lightweight aluminium, the tracpode can be folded up small enough to be transported easily in most vehicles.

  • tracpode is ideal for use in confined spaces - the diameter of the manhole can be from 1.2 to 1.85 m
  • Lifting anchor point complying with machinery standards 98/37/CE. Capacity 250 kg, with strap 500 kg.
  • Temporary anchor point complying with the requirements of the EN 795 B
