Our new Blocfor Duo enables completely unrestricted movement while working at height. The Blocfor Duo is comprised of two 1.8m fall arrest devices linked together by a shock absorber, ensuring connection to a safe anchor point at all times. One hook is connected to an anchor point and if you need to pass an obstacle or change to another anchor point, you attach the second hook before releasing the first. Working this way allows for complete freedom of movement without compromising on safety.

The Blocfor Duo offers a safer alternative for anyone currently using a double lanyard. The fall distance is always shorter with a self-retracting fall arrest device than it is with a lanyard, making the Blocfor Duo the ideal replacement for these applications.
The Blocfor Duo has our ESD system (Extremity System Dissipator) integrated at the end of the cable. The ESD system ensures the user an impact of less than 600 daN, eliminating the risk of violent impact in the event of a fall, even when the cable is completely unwound.
The shock absorber is also a fall indicator, preventing the use of the device after a fall.

The Blocfor Duo is not only suitable when there is a risk of falling vertically, it is also designed for horizontal use, e.g. for use on a flat roof, where there is a risk of falling over a sharp edge (minimum radius of 0.5mm).
It is not always possible to have an overhead anchor point and often the only place to anchor yourself is at or below the level of the feet, close to an edge where you could fall. If this is the case and a user falls, they can fall the length of the lanyard before the fall arrest device activates, therefore generating much higher energy levels that need to be absorbed so they don't harm the user.
This situation is often described as "Fall Factor 2" and many fall arrest devices explicitly forbid this kind of use in their user manual. Tractel has developed the Blocfor Duo specifically for use in this situation.
