Tractel® is proud to be part of projects at the forefront of solar thermal power. In a recent project, we provided a tower maintenance unit (TMU) to be utilized at a solar power plant in Chile. Utilizing the power of the sun, thousands of reflectors on the ground transmit light power to the central tower which then initiates the process of heating molten salts to generate steam, which in turn generates electrical power. Cost effective, this method of solar power provides an opportunity to economically store high quantities of energy and provide power, even in the non-daylight hours. The key to success, and the heart of this powerplant, is a clean surface atop the central tower, made possible by the Tractel® TMU. Our experience and commitment to the project resulted in the perfect solution.
