Introducing new automatic fall arresters blocfor™ 1.8A Evo and 1.8B Evo

Tractel^® is excited to announce the extension of his range of automatic fall arresters blocfor^TM, with the integration of two new models, specially developed for the fall factor two: the blocfor^TM 1.8A Evo and 1.8B Evo with UV resistant ABS plastic housing and shock-absorption system ESD.

To work safely, whatever the application and fall factor.

Fall factor 2

To minimise the impact on a user in case of a fall, an anchor point above their head is ideal. This means the fall arrest device used comes into action immediately and therefore reduces significantly the impact energy that needs to be absorbed.

However, such an anchoring point is not always possible and often the only place to anchor is at or even below the level of the feet of the user as well as close to the edge where you can fall. This means that in case of a fall the user can fall the length of the lanyard before the fall arrest device activates, therefore generating much higher energy levels that need to be absorbed so they cannot harm the user. This situation is often described as Fall Factor 2 and many fall arrest devices explicitly forbid this kind of use in the user manual.

High capacity range 150kg

Tractel^® has now developed the blocfor^TM 1.8 Evo to work specifically in this situation. It can be used in Fall Factor 2 circumstances as well as vertically and horizontally. As part of our High Capacity Range the new models can be used by users with a weight of up-to 150kg. The new blocfor^TM 1.8 Evo is available in A and B variants.
