New packaging for Tractel's products

Tractel is committed to reducing the environmental impact of its products throughout their entire lifespan. As part of this effort, the company is phasing out all plastic packaging in favour of sustainable, mostly recycled materials.

Plastic is one of the most problematic for the environment. It is made from non-renewable raw materials such as crude oil, and it is not easily recyclable. PVC can take hundreds of years to decompose in nature, and when it is burned, it releases toxic gases into the environment.

To address these issues, Tractel has chosen to use recycled and recyclable cardboard packaging instead of PVC. Cardboard is made from renewable wood fibers and can be easily recycled multiple times without losing its properties. Additionally, it decomposes quickly in nature and does not release toxic gases when burned.

Starting in January 2023 and continuing all around the year, all of Tractel's harnesses will be shipped in recycled cardboard boxes rather than their previous plastic packaging.

Tractel is also working on developing and improving carton boxes for its lanyards and fall arrest devices.

The benefits of this change are significant. First and foremost, it allows the company to reduce its carbon footprint by using a more environmentally friendly material.

With this action, Tractel demonstrates that companies can take action to protect the environment while still providing quality products to their customers.
